Does CALI ADU build the ADU?
CALI ADU is a design and permitting firm. We design your ADU and process the permit through your city. Construction is performed by an independent licensed California general contractor you contract with directly — and we introduce you to vetted builders who build our plans regularly.
What's the difference between the plan price and the construction estimate?
The plan price is our fixed fee for a complete, permit-ready plan set. The construction estimate beside it is what an independent licensed general contractor typically charges to build that model — an estimate.
What is the permit guarantee?
If we complete your feasibility study and tell you we can permit your ADU, and your city refuses to issue the permit, you get every dollar of your plan fee back. Across 126 Los Angeles ADU projects taken through permitting, not one has been denied.
How fast can my plans be submitted?
If you choose a Signature Plan and request no design changes, we complete and submit your plan set to the city within 14 days. Permit approval itself typically takes 6 to 8 weeks and is controlled by the city, not by us.
